Daily Derby® Ticket Sold in Moreno Valley Wins Big!

SACRAMENTO – One lucky California Lottery player is having a good end to their week. That’s because that player wasn’t horsing around when they purchased a Daily Derby ticket in Moreno Valley for last night’s draw. That lucky ticket is now worth $432,434 after the winner picked all the correct horses and the final race time.

This is the largest Daily Derby prize won so far this year, and the largest since October 4, 2017 when another lucky winner purchased a ticket worth $568,525 in Castaic (Los Angeles County).

We won’t know who bought the latest winning ticket until they come forward and claim their big prize, but we do know the lucky ticket matched the following winning horses:

           1st place          #01 – Gold Rush

           2nd place         #07 – Eureka

           3rd place         #03 – Hot Shot

The winning race time was 1:47.86.

The lucky winner purchased that ticket at the ARCO ampm, located at 23501 Alessandro Blvd. in Moreno Valley (Riverside County). The California Lottery wants to remind the winner of last night’s race to immediately sign the back of their ticket in ink, keep it in a safe place where they’ll remember and contact Lottery officials or to hop on their horse and trot on over to their local Lottery District Office as soon as possible. Daily Derby winners have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim their prizes. Winners are also encouraged to familiarize themselves with the Lottery’s Winner’s Handbook, which can be found here.

Daily Derby combines the fun and excitement of horse racing with several ways to win, including the chance to win twice on a single ticket. This unique game was the first horse racing-themed game in the U.S. played on regular Lottery terminals. The game can be played at any of the Lottery’s 23,000 retailers by selecting three horses from a field of 12: one to finish 1st, one to finish 2nd, one to finish 3rd and a race time. Lottery players must pick their horses by 6:30 p.m. for the current day’s draw. The Daily Derby draw is held after 6:30 p.m., at which time you can get winning information from any Lottery retailer’s terminal, or you can visit the Lottery’s website at for the results.

Daily Derby is a part of the Lottery’s continued effort to create more winners and more importantly, earn more money for California public schools! Remember, you must be at least 18 years old to purchase a ticket, play or claim a prize. No exceptions!

The California Lottery is a $6 billion enterprise based in Sacramento. It is one of the few state agencies that is a revenue generator, not accepting taxpayer dollars from the State’s General Fund. Its mission is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. In FY 2016-17, the Lottery created 83 new millionaires. Ninety-five cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retail compensation. The California Lottery urges its customers to play responsibly and within their budgets. If you feel you have a gambling problem, or know someone who does, you can get help at 1-800-GAMBLER.
